Everytime I see tumblr try to pull a "let's make it more like this other social media platform" I think of an experiment where Coke did a blind taste test against Pepsi products and found most people prefer the taste of pepsi so they changed their recipe to taste more like pepsi. The product performed terribly. Shockingly, the people who preferred pepsi were just going to drink pepsi and the people who preferred coke didn't want a drink something that tasted like pepsi. People choose social medias and basically anything for what differentiates them from alternatives
The problem with hogwarts legacy is not just "a difference of opinion" due to the author, it's because jk rowling seems willing to give her harry potter money to anti trans hate groups, to anti lgbtq+ groups, to anti abortion groups and to groups that are pushing for conversion "therapy"
You cannot buy licensed harry potter products without giving jk rowling money. Any money that jk rowling receives could reasonably be used to fund some form of bigotry and this will hurt a lot of people.
Buying hogwarts legacy means accepting this fact and deciding that it's OK. And people are allowed to be upset by this.
Mend your clothes, please! It’s not hard, it just takes a short time to learn and not that long to do. It’s cheap as well, and doesn’t take a lot of materials. This is a piece of cut off fabric, a needle, sewing thread and some glue from a glue stick to keep the fabric still on the inside. Only two stitches needed, this is a whip stitch and a running stitch! Google some Sashiko and get some inspiration from old Japanese mending techniques. Or you know, from old time punks! But please, mend your clothes. Its not hard and you can learn and do it yourself.
im gonna be real i do think we need to spend more time as a society encouraging adults to play pretend in structured ways bc what i’m getting from a variety of sources is we all like to make fake shit and pretend to be people we are not
No fr adults would be a lot healthier if their need for play was more easily satisfied. Play is a fundamental human need that does not go away when we exit childhood but it’s treated as childish and frivolous. No bitch that’s how we process our experiences and knowledge and practice emotions of all kinds in a safe space!! Learn how to play again!
what bugs me about it is every other animal on earth engages in play behaviors all the time. for their entire lives. yet for humans for some reason play isn’t considered normal once you’re a certain age? come on bro. crows are rolling down peoples windshields and sheep are jumping on trampolines. go have fun too
